Since its first festival in April 1980, Artsplosure has presented scores of outdoor programs and large-calibration festivals featuring thousands of established and emerging visual, performing, and interdisciplinary artists in numerous traditional and non-traditional indoor venues and outdoor settings. Past and nowadays Artsplosure-produced events include the Jazz & Blue Music Festival, the African American Cultural Festival, First Nighttime Raleigh, Live & Local Hillsborough Street, and its namesake event, Artsplosure - The Raleigh Arts Festival.

Artsplosure also offers programming and production support for other events seeking artistic components, such equally J. Cole's Dreamville Music Festival, IBM's Wide Open up Bluegrass, Destination Dix Festival, and more.

Michael Lowder

Executive Director

Michael Lowder joined Artsplosure in 1997 and is responsible for all administrative duties related to agency operations and festival productions. He manages fundraising and sponsorship development, contract negotiations, volunteer recruitment, grants seeking and reporting, budget development and oversight, and interagency, public and government relations functions. Michael has more than 25 years of nonprofit and individual sector professional experience, including positions with the NC Section of Cultural Resources, NC Symphony, NC Amateur Sports, United Arts Council of Greensboro, The Arts Council of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County, and Capital letter Consortium Fundraising Counsel. Michael initiated and organized the start Durham dejection festival and planned and implemented the arts festival component of U.Southward. Olympic Festival '87.

Cameron Laws

Program Director

Cameron Laws is responsible for creative plan planning and coordination, supervising technical and volunteer staff, and profitable in analogous logistics of all on-site festival operations for each festival. She likewise assists the executive director in securing proposals for major visual arts installations and in preparing and negotiating artists' contracts. Her role with Artsplosure is a continuation of her involvement with the North Carolina arts community. During her fourth dimension at NC State she served every bit a student coordinator for the first Arts Village living and learning community as well as a fellow member of ARTS NC Country and an intern at the Gregg Museum of Art and Design. Cameron is besides an active volunteer with Girls Rock NC, teaching youth how to play guitar and perform original compositions. Previous to her return to Raleigh she lived in the volcanic tropics of Hawaii and the historic port city of Savannah, Georgia. Cameron's hobbies include exploring the Triangle scene, playing guitar, carpentry, and producing art and blueprint work through multiple artistic mediums.

Lucy Tobias

Marketing Managing director

Lucy is a native New Yorker and recent Raleigh transplant. She joined the Artsplosure squad in October 2021 as the Marketing Managing director. She is responsible for managing advertising campaigns along with Artsplosure'south websites and social media presence, serving every bit the liaison between Artsplosure and local media outlets. With a dynamic background in everything from advertising campaigns at AOL to video product for Scary Mommy and social media for WWE, she's excited to help grow Artsplosure's reach and capabilities. In her spare time, Lucy loves documenting her Raleigh adventures aslope her pug on her Instagram business relationship @LucyTfactory!

Operations Manager

Hannah Liebel is the newest fellow member of the Artsplosure team, joining us in 2018 as our Visual Creative person Coordinator. Hannah is responsible for organizing Artsplosure's juried art markets and craft fairs, and serves as the master liaison betwixt inquiring artists and our arrangement. Hannah is a North Carolina native and received her Bachelors of Scientific discipline in Art Instruction from Appalachian State University in 2012. Through didactics, she discovered a desire and passion to make art accessible to everyone. Hannah has experience in fine art curation for several universities, festivals, and galleries across the state. She's beyond excited to play an integral role in Artsplosure's initiative to bring extraordinary fine art to the people of Downtown Raleigh!

Glynda Westerbeek

Accounting Manager

Glynda Westerbeek joined Artsplosure in 2005. She is responsible for all the accounting of Artsplosure, including monthly receivables, payables, reconciliations and payroll. She besides helps with the Friends Campaign and serves as the Volunteer and Art Market Coordinator for the system. Equally a continuation of her love and back up of the Arts community Glynda also performs contract accounting work for Pinecone, the Piedmont Council of Traditional Music and the Due north Carolina Presenters Consortium. Artsplosure's mission to provide "Art for All" is what Glynda appreciates most nigh working for Artsplosure. Knowing that Artsplosure works to provide an opportunity for anybody to enjoy art in the community no matter their circumstance makes it an award to work with Artsplosure.
